How much does a professional music video cost in Paris?

This is the question we get asked most often by artists and labels. The honest answer: between €3,000 and €50,000, depending on a range of factors that we’ll explain in detail here.

At Bengale, we 've been producing music videos since 2016 for emerging artists and major labels. This guide is based on our actual productions, not on theoretical estimates.

Price schedule by production level

Editorial fee — €3,000 to €8,000

Ideal for independent artists and projects with a strong artistic vision but limited budgets. Typically includes:

  • 1 day of filming (director + 1 cameraman)
  • Sony FX or RED camera for rent
  • Editing + color grading (3 to 5 days)
  • 1 simple filming location
  • YouTube 4K video delivery + Reels versions

Mid-range price range — €8,000 to €20,000

The standard for clips published in the media. Includes:

  • 1 to 2 days of filming
  • ARRI Alexa or RED Dragon
  • A crew of 6 to 10 people (director of photography, camera assistant, gaffer, makeup artist, art director)
  • Up to 3 settings or locations
  • Advanced post-production with the option of light VFX

Premium format — €20,000 to €50,000

Productions featuring professional casts, custom-built sets, visual effects, or filming outside of Paris. This is the standard of our music videos for artists signed to major labels or for international collaborations.

The 6 factors that affect the budget

  1. Number of shooting days — each day accounts for an average of 30 to 40% of the total budget
  2. Size ofthe production team — a single director versus a team of 15 people makes all the difference
  3. Venue Rentals and Set Design — Paris is one of the most expensive cities for renting venues
  4. Casting — professional actors, extras, styling
  5. Post-production — film color grading, VFX, animation
  6. Delivery formats — one master file plus four variations vs. just one file

What you shouldn't cut back on

Color grading is the most cost-effective investment in a music video. A well-shot video that’s poorly graded loses 70% of its impact. The same goes for art direction in pre-production: a clear mood board always saves a day of shooting.
