"Cycling Essential Stories" is an 11-minute animated documentary film that revisits the greatest stories of the Tour de France. Entirely generated by artificial intelligence, it explores a new way of telling the story of sports and its history, blending reenactment and animation.
From the script and storyboard through to post-production—editing, titling, color grading, and sound mixing—the film applies the classic grammar of cinema to a new medium. AI does not replace the director’s vision; rather, it expands the range of possibilities by bringing to life images that traditional budgets and deadlines would not have allowed.
